Bluelight CRM strongly advise all organisations to review current plans and preparedness for the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), due in May 2018. The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has recently provided additional guidance and resources in this area, including assessment toolkits for SMEs. Bluelight provide ongoing advice and support, around this key area of compliance, for all clients.
Dynamics CRM, which Bluelight use for their own product development, provides an excellent framework for the management of data. Functionality provided by the Bluelight product, enable an organisation to seek and track consent easily and accurately, as well as ensuring Individuals’ rights such as the ‘right to erasure’ and the ‘right to restrict processing’, can be adhered to. The configuration of the Bluelight CRM product enables the easy identification and potential deletion of records to support these.
It is important to note that data, its collection and use, remains the responsibility of the organisation. However, there should be no technology based reason for non-compliance with GDPR and Bluelight CRM would be happy to provide further guidance.
